The counselling service at PCS changed my life. After arriving in Australia as a refugee, I felt completely lost. The team was so compassionate and patient — I now have employment and feel truly part of this community.
PCS helped me write my resume and prepare for interviews. Within three weeks of completing the Job Ready Program, I had a full-time job. The staff genuinely cared about my success and went above and beyond.
The Women's Empowerment Program gave me the confidence I never had. I learned about financial literacy and leadership. I now run my own small business selling the jewellery I made in the creative arts program!
As a community services student, my placement at PCS was invaluable. I worked directly with clients, learned real skills, and the supervisors were incredibly supportive. I'd recommend PCS placements to every student.
When I was homeless, PCS not only helped me find accommodation but also connected me with food relief, counselling and employment support. They treated me with dignity. I'm now stably housed and working.
Volunteering at PCS for the food bank has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. The team is welcoming and passionate. I've made wonderful friends and gained skills I use in my professional life.
The computer skills program helped me get online for the first time. At 68, I thought technology wasn't for me — but the patient instructors showed me how to video call my grandchildren and apply for jobs online.
The Multicultural Integration Program helped my whole family feel at home in Melbourne. We learned so much about Australian culture, systems and services, and made so many friends. We are so grateful for PCS.
The mental health program came at exactly the right time. After my relationship breakdown, I was struggling badly. The support groups and mindfulness sessions gave me tools to rebuild my life. I cannot thank PCS enough.
